Staebler Insurance is very excited to announce we are returning to our roots with a move to downtown Kitchener.

Effective Monday, October 28, Staebler Insurance will be located at 51 Breithaupt Street in Kitchener as a part of The Breithaupt Block development. Downtown Kitchener has always been a special place for Staebler Insurance and has been our home for most of our 151-year history.

“This is a big moment for Staebler Insurance and an exciting move for us,” said President Joanna Mendonca. “Returning to downtown Kitchener feels like coming home. This move allows us the space we need for our growing team, and it will be a fully renovated, like-new workspace in a historic building in the downtown core.

“We’re excited to be a part of the momentum in the downtown and to be able contribute to the development in our region.”

Historic Return to Downtown Kitchener

Moving into The Breithaupt Block is a nod to Staebler’s past. In the 1890s, our founder Jacob Merner Staebler (Mayor of Berlin, circa 1891) was also a co-founder of the Berlin Piano and Organ Company and built the company’s factory on the corner of King Street West and Breithaupt Street.

“As Waterloo Region grows, so does Staebler Insurance. This region has always been our home, and we are excited to embark on this next chapter in Staebler’s legacy,” said Mendonca.

Early Office Closure and Late Office Opening

Please note Staebler’s Victoria Street office will close early at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 25 and the 51 Breithaupt Street office will open later the following Monday morning at 10 a.m. on October 28.

Beginning Tuesday, October 29, Staebler’s regular hours will resume (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.– 5 p.m.)

Visitor Parking Options

There are a number of on-street parking spots available in front of 51 Breithaupt Street as well as marked parking spaces in the first row of the parking lot (please see overview below).
