Food4Kids Waterloo Region lives everyday with the mission of delivering healthy food to children living with chronic hunger. Their work has never been more important than it is today.

In support of their important mission, Staebler Insurance through our Charity & Community Involvement Committee has made a significant donation in April and has committed to more volunteer hours throughout the year.

“Healthy communities start with healthy kids,” says Lorri Detta, Executive Director at Food4Kids Waterloo Region. “Staebler’s support through the years has helped us deliver healthy food directly to children on weekends and breaks. when they won’t have access to the school nutrition program that they depend on.”

Staebler has been a supporter of Food4Kids since 2019, donating $30,000 and countless volunteer hours.

Staebler Insurance partners with Gore Mutual Insurance

This year is extra special as we are directly contributing to their Summer Break Program. With the help of Gore Mutual Insurance Company, the impact is even greater with an additional donation coming from Gore’s Brokers for Good Matching Program.

I’m honoured to have recently joined their Board of Directors, helping to guide them on their mission to provide healthy food for kids with limited or no access to food on weekends and during the summer months in Ontario.”

Making an Impact in Waterloo Region

We’re proud of this partnership with the Gore Mutual to help Food4Kids Summer Break Program have a major impact throughout Waterloo Region.

“1,000 children identified as living with severe food insecurity will receive a weekly box of healthy produce, proteins, grains, pastas, with a grocery card for fresh items,” said Lorri. “This is delivered every week to the arms of at-risk children in communities across Waterloo Region.”

It’s a heartwarming organization that has inspired the Staebler team to put their hands up and volunteer during pack days over the next few months. Food4Kids Waterloo Region are always looking for additional volunteers to help pack and deliver to schools and to homes during school breaks.
