Extend-A-Family supports people with developmental disabilities throughout Waterloo Region.

In keeping with our mandate to support local, needs-based organizations, Staebler’s Charity and Community Involvement Committee recently donated to Extend-A-Family’s programs that are inclusive of people of all ages and abilities based on common interests. Our team was inspired by the Extend-A-Family story and its reach across the region, supporting more than 2,700 people.

In addition, Staebler Insurance is proud to sponsor their Walk-Or-Wheel Event between September 9-22, 2023. “WOW” includes a number of activities and challenges for individuals or teams to participate in  All funds will support EAFWR programs The kick-off event is on Saturday September 9, 2023, at Kingsdale Community Centre. Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region helps families and individuals access funding from the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services. They coordinate “FamilyHome” which allows adults with a disability to live with a family and share life together. Most of all, they connect people to the important services and programs that they need to live inclusive lives.

SUPPORT EXTEND-A-FAMILY

Consider volunteering with or donating to Extend-A-Family. You could also join the Kitchener-Waterloo Library of Things. This unique local library allows the public access to infrequently used items without the need to purchase. These items include kitchen appliances, tools, garden equipment, and camping gear.
