This year, the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Southern Railway (CPKC) is once again running its Holiday Train across Canada.

The CPKC Holiday Train runs November 21 to December 20 for its 26th year of spreading holiday cheer by raising money and food awareness for people struggling with food insecurity.

On Sunday, November 24, Waterloo Region residents had a chance to see the train visit the Cambridge/Galt area between 4:15-4:45 p.m. at 10 Malcom Street in Cambridge.

The Holiday Train also be made a stop in Ayr (Inglis Street & Willison Street) between 5:30-6 p.m.

Santa Claus Parades to Watch this Season

Many parades ran earlier in November including Kitchener-Waterloo (November 16), Cambridge (November 16), and Puslinch (November 24). Fear not, there are still several parades to come ahead of the holiday season.

The Santa Claus Parade will visit the Township of North Dumfries on November 30 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
New Hamburg will host a parade on December 1 at 6 p.m., while Hespeler’s Santa Claus Parade will take place on December 7 at noon.

In Fergus, Santa will be at the Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree Parade starts at 1:30 p.m. on December 7.
Finally, Santa will then head to Guelph for their Santa Claus Parade at 5:30 p.m. on December 7.

More Holiday Events to Circle on the Calendar

Bingemans in Kitchener hosts the annual Gift of Lights drive-thru experience. It began on November 22 and will be available for viewing until January 4. More details are available on their website: Gift of Lights | Bingemans

In Waterloo Park, the Wonders of Winter lights display will run from November 30 until January 4. You can catch the official Opening Ceremonies at 5:30pm on November 30 in front of the log house.

Winterfest in Cambridge runs from November 15 to January 1 and has several events including Winter Ice and Lights with beautiful light displays in Central Park in Preston. More details can be found on their website: Winter Ice and Lights
