On January 31, Staebler Insurance joined longtime community partners Gore Mutual and CARSTAR Canada to present a major donation to KW Counselling Services.

KW Counselling received a combined cheque for $10,500 from the three local organizations. The donation will allow them to continue their popular walk-in program and keep it open year round. In the past they have been forced to close down the walk-in program during the summer.

The donation benefits KW Counselling to have another counsellor host up to four walk-in sessions per day for 50 weeks.

Mental health awareness and action is a pillar of support for Staebler’s Community and Charity Committee. The committee’s goal is to help organizations in Waterloo Region whose focus is on the mental well-being of local residents.

Last Wednesday’s donation to KW Counselling coincided with Bell Let’s Talk Day – a national initiative by Bell Media to raise awareness and much-needed funding for mental health programs. Canadians were encouraged to call, text, tweet #BellLetsTalk, post on Facebook, Instagram and use the Let’s Talk filter on Snapchat.

With over 138 million interactions, this year’s Bell Let’s Talk Day raised over $6.9-million for mental health programs in Canada.
